hell.o.
apologies for the last couple of weeks.
i have been selfish and been ignoring my duties.
however, i have my reasons.
firstly, last week saw the arrival of the new madness album to ireallylovemusic hq.
now, i realise this may be a shock to many followers of the blog, but before i discovered the world of the weirder aspects of pop music via on-u sounds, ztt records, the john peel show and the nme etc, my life was all about the camden based magnificent seven, and despite the fact i should by now know better, old habits die hard.
subsequently most of last week was taken up with my falling in love with the bands non-nutty sound groove of the liberty of norton folgate
then this week, i actively decided to stay clear from the usual overload of techno based music, as once my head gets into that space, i find it difficult to get out, and given that i was destined to see the mighty scaramanga six, i wanted to keep strong and immerse myself in their back catalogue.
anyway, all that’s over and so it’s back to normal.
well, sort of.
you see, there are times a pop song just hits the spot out of the blue.
and today, that spot has been hit by the dolly mixtures.
clearly there are some revisionist games afoot here, as i don’t for a minute believe that the girls have any idea as to the excellence of the dr mabuse 12" by propaganda as the pr gumph implies on their myspace page, but there is no denying that the song above is going to become this summers one hit smash.
i suspect by the time it gets a release, i’ll hate it, but in the meantime, i’m off to ‘ave a little dance.
