for those of you who like facts: l kubic is lars niekisch, and this 12" is his first solo release.
having released previously on various other labels such as get physical and great stuff, it was the best looking record label, buzzin’ fly, who decided that this slab of pouncing house filled atmospherics was worthy of a full and proper vinyl release.
the sound is deep and beautiful, with pleasure inducing thumps and bumps in all the right places.
with an extra layer of pleasure being introduced by the use of cut up vocal snippets, giving memory throwbacks to the era of classic yello and their trademark use of vocal snippets in the mix.
subsequently, i’m rather smitten.
not only is the original very special, there is a chris woodward version on the flip, amazingly his first remix despite being the go-to man when it comes to manning the decks for the label.
clearly if he continues to produce results as good as this (headphone dancefloor filler!), it wont be long before his name is added to the list of in-demand remixers.
as seems to becoming the norm for the buzzin’ fly crew, this release is excellent.
