due to february 1st being a date of particular importance to yours truly, yesterday this :

though i am still settling into the extra buttons and colours i am not sure as to my thoughts.
despite the fact the sony is battered and bruised, and only has a capacity of 500mb (laugh it up gigabytes freakoids), i have loved its presence in my life.
we have been on many an adventure together.
the sound quality is amazing, and one small battery lasts hours
about 60 of them in fact, meaning i rarely have to worry as i always carry a spare.
yet, after one day of pressing buttons and familiarisation, the nokia is already looking decidedly low on the power front.
then there is the whole transferring of the actual music.
while sony prefer you use their own sonicstage application (now deceased i believe), a few years ago they crumbled and released a bit of an mp3 hack for the network walkman range which meant you were able to drag mp3s directly onto the player.
the whole process was incredibly quick and easy, making it a great way to rotate the playlist (essential with the space) on a regular basis.
with the nokia, which is admittedly a lot more gorgeous machine to look at, the process is relatively easy, but damn, you have to set aside a chunk of your day while the mp3 files are ported across.
i have decorated houses quicker than it took to transfer over the 2 cd carl craig sessions mix
still, once i get used to the pros and cons, and i buy a few more power adapters, i am sure, i will love this new digital era.
