well, sorry but this has to be short and sweet.
and very sweet it is too.
basically, a bedroom muso boffin type of person has re-scored the aphex twin’s ambient classic album selected ambient works 85-92 and turned the old electronic strangeness into a music of natural beauty.
strings. pianos, and a lot of atmosphere and audio simplicity are the order of the day, making for a relaxing alternative to the chaos that normally rattles around ireallylovemusic hq.
lo-fi. low-tech. high enjoyment.
no release, no real detail, i was tipped off about this via a forum, and seeing as the music of aphex twin still holds the attention of many, thought it worthy of passing this nugget of sonic gold on.
oh, one point of interest.
the person behind the bedroom symphony orchestra became disinterested in finishing off the project, meaning that only 9 out of the 13 tracks were completed.
still, if you, like me, believe this to be of value, perhaps some well directed pressure will end up with someone coercing the man to complete the story.
we can but hope.
in the meantime, and until it’s taken offline here is the site : selected orchestral versions 2008
genuinely gorgeous.
