more weirdos with too many synth patches to use up before crimbo kicks in properly.
after last weeks strangeness supposedly involving one hollywood movie star, comes this newly unwrapped susceptible package of digital treats.
basically, a bunch of mp3s dropped in over the weekend, with the above opening statement to entice me to hit the play button. despite my initial reservations, the attached track actually ended up making this mornings catchup exercise all that more enjoyable.
destroy and sedate, is a lovely little electronic pop song that has all those bouncy synth noises that i can never resist, and a sweeter than a sticky fruity polo melody.
i have absolutely no details as to who is behind this stuff other than the memory teasing band name (pseudonyms – dontcha just love’em), and a pointer to the less-necessary-than-it-used-to-be myspace.
the other tracks streaming by dr midnight seem intent on providing more daft punk styled vocoder infused disco pop, and laid back lo-fi acoustic strummings for your bruised ears.
pushing all the mystery aside, this is rather good, and quite simply, my favourite of the bunch.
