johnny boy – crews against consumismo (extended mix)

back in 2004 johnny boy were supposedly going to take over the world.

the duos debut single with the most amazing title ever, you are the generation that bought more shoes and you get what you deserve was released to universal acclaim.

the  phil spector styled production (provided by james from the manic street preachers), the radio friendly "yeah yeah" chats, the reach for the skies melodies.

everything just worked perfectly.

and so the world waited for the album.

and waited.

and waited.

then as to be expected most forgot all about the band, including the record label that released that most brilliant of singles.

then quietly, the band did manage to get a few self released copies of the self titled album out to those interested, and people fell in love with the band all over again, knowing that while the single was clearly the best track contained within its 10 tracks, there was a lot of more excellence in the go! team styled euphoria, the wall of sound layers, and those oh-so-innocent girl pop vocals.

so for no other reason than the fact i have spent today rediscovering this lost classic and having a major wake up moment, (and the fact that at last my cd player has recognised the cd single!), here is the retitled remix of one of the best singles ever.
