hard rockin' grooves and rock vocals from this new uk act.
pearl jam vocals meets black crowes bar room bluesy rock. opening track 'smash the scene' hits the ground running and reveals the bands intent, noisy guitars and uptempo drums and vocals that dont hide away in the shadows.
the main problem is the lack of variety of sounds used over the 5 tracks, indeed there are times when i had to check that the tracks were actually different. more attention to the sonic detail and a little finesse could bring out an extra layer of melody that would help rise these songs out of the trad rock feel and add a welcome dimension. whether this is down to the band wanting to maintain a certain hardrock vibe that i am not aware of - or lack of production budgets i am unsure of.
not bad by any means, and give the guys a stage to perform this live on, i am sure that they could indeed rip the crowd up .. me included.
