ok go - ok go
difficult this one, after the third play i hated the opening track/single 'get over it' , then i heard it in a different light and i began to enjoy it for some strange perverse reason.
the catchy chorus the spiky guitars and the delirious hammond organ and so i approached the lp in a fairly welcoming manner.
but, like the single i have loved and hated this album in just about equal measures. some days the well executed nerd-power pop formula makes me smile and i enjoy it, but then on another day the manufactured contrived aspect of the songs, the knowingly cool aspect of the lyrics just grates too much, because, make no excuses this is as manufactured as any current boy band. just that the people behind plan this have decided to go for the ironic student guitar college nerd rock niche instead of the clean cut pop image.
and so todays listening experience ? i found it just too much, and within 30 minutes i had made my decision.
ok, go.
