neo - free from reason
4 track demo from four piece brit rock band.
solid instrumentation, chunky guitars and gruff vocals. this lot have obviously been watching the rise of inme, one hundred reasons, hell is for heroes type of bands. opening track 'strength of one' has an impressive melodic line behind the crunchy guitars but doesn't grab the listener as much as the second track 'ashley' as this is more uptempo and hails back to creation punkpop 3 colours red and is more interesting with a very nice insistent guitar line. while the band are not breaking any new ground its an impressive opening showcase of the bands talents.
'coming undone' sounds like the sort of stuff pop will eat itself just prior to their demise were doing after they dropped the complete sample overload and rediscovered guitars and songs, the half rap/half sung style with the stop start guitar riffs all make for a cool 4 minutes, with '4 bullets' finishing of the demo very nicely and utilising a cool vocal phasing effect for the headphone listeners.
admittedly there is not much variety in the guitar sounds/styles - get some decent studio production on these tracks and this lot show some definite promise.
