the mad capsule markets - osc-dis
damn.
how to describe this piece of noisy excellence. japanese trio who have been making a racket for years decide to blend manga techno-noir bleeps to an industrial metal racket while maintaining strong element of melody and catchy chorus's.
a very well sequenced album, which fuses its short sharp songs and full on industrial noisefests making this a lot of fun.
sequencers clash, d-n-b beats clatter and processed guitars slam. the vocals are phased/distorted/shouted, sometimes in english, others in japanese, not that i can tell a lot of the time.
several songs are wildly addictive and have a very strong melody that is often lacking in the usa nu-metal genre. this is not for wallowing around in self pity, but to induce smiles aplenty while skate boarding in the neon-lit parks at midnight well past the state induced curfew. nu-goth this is most definitely not, highlights include the acid house sequencer overload of 'step into yourself' which then jumps into 'good girl' which has fm-rock sanctioned harmonies a la sum41, but the intention is not to appeal to the fratnerds, but the fratnerds objects of virginal desire as the mad capsules racket is far far sexier.
excellent stuff, honest.
and for some lucky folks there is even a 6 track full on dvd. does life get better than this i wonder ..
