punk styled riffed up rock music with melbourne front girl, vanessa eve, proving that it's not only the hip hop folks who have got dirty mouths. 11 tracks of full on nu-punk rock with all manner of lyrics that betray the cover image, making aspects of this debut release come across like a hardcore post-coital avril lavigne. thankfully, alongside the raw wordplay, there are some cracking tunes across the 34 minutes. most are upfront in-yer-face, but with the more restrained 'scream', vannessa gives it the big emotional drama game, which given a proper budget soft focus closeup, mtv slo-mo video could become this years angst anthem, but then just as you begin to think vanessa is all nice and easy wrapped up in a barbed wire outer shell, we are dragged into the dark and seedy parts of the world with such songs as 'gutter girl', and the smile inducing 'catherine' (all 45 seconds of it !). don't get on the wrong side of this girl that's all i can say.
basically, hormonally charged lads who love to hear girls say things like 'fuck me sideways', 'kiss me for fucks sake', to lovely big angry effects heavy chugga chugga guitars, and read kerrang are gonna love this.
