frank black and the catholics - s/t
never a big fan of the cold and icy pixies i have therefore avoided the rest of their collective output, but decided to give this a shot as it was franks return to proper band form, i had read that all lp's recorded under this guise were recorded straight to 2-track - therefore i expected a demo sounding release .. well how wrong - solid indie-rock which beats the c*ap outta most new stuff i have heard on the evening session (showcase radio show for new indie talent) - very different to the pixies, just full on passionate underground rock.
hurrah for the big man ..
