only available as a download this package has some interesting remixes that could indeed be worthy of your crimbo bonus. as is often the case i have never heard of any of these remixer names, but the small arms fiya is rather good. expanding the electro bounce factor somewhat and generally making this a dancefloor jump and down classic for those that like a little sandra melody styled dancehall crowd pleasing call-response chorus, the percy filthy version is a more raw and uncompromising hip hop retake, whereas the lucrative version adds lots of 70's funked up electric piano into the mix, making people of a certain persuasion dive into their archives for those old galliano records and smile a lot. good stuff.
then to round the whole package off, there is a full on dub version of the album track, 'sticks and stones', coming on strong like it has been lifted straight from a classic 70's dub album, with all the usual ingredients, fat bass line, hammond organs, clipped guitars and far away distance vocals all fed through the mightiest of echo and reverb effects - oh, how good is this ? very.
