what's your motivation ?

a: girls, concorde, safaris & the rock'n'roll hall of fame.

do you like white stripes/strokes/hives new rock stuff ?

a: it's ok. at the moment the white stripes are shit hot property but they have their limitations in terms of how big they can go. strokes are taking far too long to release their second album and the hives are from, er, sweden… abba, roxette, sorry man, too poppy for my liking.

have the last 2 years been a good or bad thing for uk music considering these headline acts are all usa.

a: the british music scene has been dormant for the past 7 years in terms of bringing forth original hard hitting bands. i think the time is right for a new super band to emerge. the libertines look set for big things but i think the garage scene has pretty much run it's course over the last 2- 3 years. people have had enough of bands turning up sporting a washing machine look and playing 3 chords, although, it is still miles better than what americans are into. bring back the great lead guitarists, vocalists, bassists and drummers! i'm not suggesting a rerun of the 80's or queen but a band like the darkness is quite exciting coz they are so good at what they do. i'd love to play guitar like that, in my dreams that is.

in other words - the future of guitar based music in uk. discuss.

a: fucking rosy as peaches. just in a different shape and form. good songs. melody. feedback. flooding guitars and razor vocals. and a concept. people want something more than the music. they want to belong. whether it is a movement or a march or a band, brits want to gang up and belong. what the next concept after britpop is is open for debate.
