eat static - implant, crash and burn !, the alien eps, decadance, prepare your spirirt
implant : the whole planet dog sound system ! ambient/techno with alien movies sound effects. listenable stuff, would now knock out the gatecrasher trance kids if they were to be exposed to this quality stuff
update - well i have now got a lot more of the eat static catalogue, the most recent of which is crash and burn from 2000 - this is a break from their usual style aswell as the pounding sequencers/samples/voices they have introduced a loungecore feel, lots of new rhythms, instruments, styles - a very very enjoyable blast. the other discs (alien,prepare,decadance) are bascially collections of old tracks which were originally on vinyl and so have been cut to cd on the bands own label .. they are very indicative of the eat static sound .. early 90's techno with the sci-fi obsessions (obvious when you see the cd covers !) all though are great fun, there is a lot of humour in the samples - nice to have a band who dont take themselves too seriously.
having checked their impressive website its obvious that these boys have carved out their own niche and built up a sizable community of dedicated fans. which considering that the band are not in favour with the printed press is very impressive.
