conformist - paid to fake it
3 tracks of dark and gloomy beats and a splattering of vocal samples lifted from all over the place (tv, radio at a guess).
having always enjoyed vocal cutups this is always a bonus for me. from the early cabaret voltaire tape experiments, to the dominance of united states of america preachers over front242's banging electronica its always been a sonic tool that has made me smile.
in track one 'gangsters code' there is mad frankie fraser advising the world on his ways to an eery electro backing .. disturbing in a nice way. for me though the best os the final track, 'youcannotcountonanyoneexceptyourself' ,
a title like that will win me over anyday. lowercase, all one word.
it may catch on.
the music is more downtempo and more engaging with some excellent distorted synth effects that invokes paranoia.
over a whole lp i may find i need a bit more variety .. but for an opening demo this is an nice eye opener.
someone has found his way into all the dark and seedy corners of his cracked computer software to get some impressive speaker worrying noises.
