{"id":766,"date":"2007-11-16T15:20:05","date_gmt":"2007-11-16T14:20:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ireallylovemusic.co.uk\/blog\/?p=766"},"modified":"2007-11-16T15:58:31","modified_gmt":"2007-11-16T14:58:31","slug":"wale-100-miles-and-running-mixed-by-nick-catchdubs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/ireallylovemusic.co.uk\/blog\/?p=766","title":{"rendered":"wale &#8211; 100 miles and running (mixed by nick catchdubs)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>       <DIV><FONT face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">being honest, it has been a quite while since i  felt hip hop. <\/FONT><\/DIV> <DIV><FONT face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">2007 has been all about the reawakening of my love  for electronic music in all its varieties,&nbsp;subsequently banging beats with  machismo&#8217;d up declarations have not exactly been on the top of my need  list.<\/FONT><\/DIV> <DIV><FONT face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">however, in the last few days <EM>ireallylovemusic  <\/EM>has been rinsing old cut-n-paste mixtapes by such heroes as <STRONG>paul  nice<\/STRONG>, <STRONG>dj format<\/STRONG> and of course <STRONG>dj  yoda<\/STRONG>.<\/FONT><\/DIV> <DIV><FONT face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">you see, all that thugged up studio gloss of  <STRONG>g-unit<\/STRONG> styled productions do little for me. <\/FONT><\/DIV> <DIV><FONT face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">instead i like stacks and stacks of uncleared  samples looped and messed up, with some deft microphone fiend giving it some  over the top of the dj chaos.<\/FONT><\/DIV> <DIV><FONT face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">so, it&#8217;s&nbsp; pure timing that i spotted a low  profile release in the racks with the following advise on the simple cover  &#8216;<EM>mixed by nick catchdubs&#8217;. <\/EM>for those that don&#8217;t&nbsp;know, nick is  connected to the whole <STRONG>diplo<\/STRONG> mashup scene and has been involved  with such releases as the <EM>motherfuckin&#8217; remix&nbsp; <\/EM>compilations.  <\/FONT><\/DIV> <DIV><FONT face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">so, with all this spinning round, i stumped up the  cash and ran back to the silver disc machine.<\/FONT><\/DIV> <DIV><FONT face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">despite the blind purchase, i am chuffed to tell  you that the mixtape is chocka with hits of the day (<STRONG>gorillaz<\/STRONG> !
