for a long time now i have to admit that ireallylovemusic<\/EM> hq has been rocking to the music made by the manipulation of various cracked software programs and machines. the thrust of a guitar chord, or the grunt of a low slung bass has had little impact on my life.<\/DIV>
i have tried to analyse the reasons why such a turnaround has occurred in my playlists, and come up with a big fat i have no fuckin’ idea.<\/EM><\/DIV>
so lets just put it down to the fact a lot of the music that has dropped through the letter box recently aint really been up to the high standards that i demand. <\/DIV>
yes crappy babyshambles <\/STRONG>album i am most certainly looking at you.<\/DIV>
then today something changed.<\/DIV>
3 albums that have totally had my spine all a tingly with their combination of interesting arrangements, off kilter tunes and some quite insane freakiness have realigned my love for the song back on course.<\/DIV>
first up it was the return of kenickies<\/STRONG> johnny x,<\/EM> sorry i mean j xaverre<\/STRONG>, or could be actually be pete gofton, <\/EM>who you may recall i recently referred to as missing in action<\/A>. <\/EM>well such irresponsible name calling obviously worked,  as a few days after i got an email from the man of the pseudo telling me that there is a new album out. and now its on my desk ! once again proving the power of this hidden corner of the web much to my amazement.<\/DIV>
this time around, pete has decided to hide under a different name, george washington brown, <\/STRONG>with an album called on the night plain.<\/EM><\/DIV>
despite the low budget aspect of this release, pete has used all his well honed studio\/live band experience to create a massively wonderful sounding album full of sonic warmth. <\/DIV>
the songs range from the expected sweet acoustic opener, it still rains<\/EM>, to the full on drum-fest, mood spoiler closing of see yourself right pt.2 <\/EM>that quite simply has to be heard to be believed, all of which sits perfectly alongside classic glammed up indie rock. <\/DIV>
basically everything you need from a song based album in 2007. a proper review will appear in the future, but i can honestly say that as this album rattled around the house, my blood started racing to the sound of guitars\/bass and drums, and it felt good. very.<\/DIV>
but, that wasn’t all.<\/DIV>
as well as this dramatic start to the day, memphis industries <\/EM>had decided to grant me the chance to hear two new albums that they are licensing to be released in the uk. <\/DIV>
first up, le loup <\/STRONG>with (wait for it – there could be typos), the throne of the third heaven of the nations millennium general assembly. <\/EM>a mad title i’m sure, but nothing in comparison to the music. <\/DIV>
strange instrumentation, layered vocals, and harmonies meant that all the talk of the emotional distress that the creator of the album went through during its gestation period were eradicated, as the final result is a glorious album that will easily become a firm fave, and then finally there is the forthcoming album by the shaky hands <\/STRONG>a band who play things a little safer with a nice set of 90s style alternative indie rock, that managed to keep my interest across the whole album. twice.<\/DIV>
so give me a few days while i digest this whole new world of band created music, it could be an interesting reunion.<\/DIV>
