if when you watch channel 4 and you catch the adverts for their own shows, and think, you know i like that electro-house track in the background <\/EM>the chances are you’ll spot a few of those snippets littered about this cracking set of remixes by electro producer\/remixer extraordinaire, ewan pearson.<\/FONT><\/DIV>
of course, sometimes the results are brilliant, sometimes not so, personally, i’m not feeling the slam <\/STRONG>track, or the generic sounding dance europop of the ladytron <\/STRONG> remix, i guess it all depends on the source material. <\/FONT><\/DIV>
subsequently the epic remixes of the 2 goldfrapp<\/STRONG> tracks sparkle more than blackpool pier on a winters night, with a special mention for the blinding 15 minutes of minimal electro throb of ride a white horse <\/EM>which will <\/EM>make parting with your cash all the more easier, along with the superb bleep infested synthetics that ewan has applied to the normally shiny pet shop boys.<\/STRONG><\/FONT><\/DIV>
in fact, it’s ewans way with managing to maintain much of the originals melodic appeal, and yet focussing attention to some particular sonic detail, and then delicately extrapolating the track for dancefloor destruction that makes this set both listenable, and groovesome. never do these remixes become about ewans personality with severe right turns into self promotion, the tracks always sound like they belong to the original artist, though with a certain widescreen technology enhanced ambience.<\/FONT><\/DIV>
so if you want catch up with the last few years of minimal\/acid\/electro\/glitch\/techno dance pop music, then this is a all encompassing release that should be top of your updated wantlist.<\/FONT><\/DIV>
