have to admit, it feels a little weird this keyboard thing, after letting it rot for a few weeks, so i guess that means it’s time to get the groove back on, and what better way than this superb monster.

elektrons is the new funk-soundsystem-hip hop pseudo for the established unabombers collective.

for this remix though, old school electro-funk guru greg wilson has really gone to town in a grandmaster flash megamix style, making it totally impossible to ever get this sample heavy version released.

so of course, ireallylovemusic has decided to help spread the love for this amazing dirty funk edit.

after all, many years ago, greg came out of his self imposed semi-retirement and starting spreading his words of wisdom across the wire about his whole involvement and exposure to the first uk electro explosion and the arrival of his electrofunkroots website.

in fact, hidden away in the ireallylovemusic archives is a brilliant slice of text that he sent, regarding his whole take on malcolm mclarens duck rock album amd the subsequent impact the record had on the uk dance music scene, something that i concur with 100% as his insight totally refelected my own personal experience with the long forgotten album.

so when this mp3 arrived i knew i was in for a treat.

and boy oh boy, a treat it is.

elektrons have a new album, red light dont stop, on the way via the wall of sound label, but hey, until then, just let this hard-n-heavy 8 minute epic take over your playlist.

mp3 : get up (greg wilson special remix)
