and now for something completely different, none of that blog house gubbins, a break from the head splitting groove, and instead it’s time to check out a song that you cannot currently buy via your usual places.<\/FONT><\/DIV>
the film from which this track has been lifted, electra glide in blue,<\/EM> is one of those rare pieces of 70s cinema that probably looks better now then it did then, so next time its dropped into your film4<\/EM> schedule then please set your timer to pick this up. the film is about a motorcycle cop who is unhappy with his current path in life, so works his way into a murder investigation only to realise that sometimes your dreams are best left as a dream. <\/FONT><\/DIV>
it’s a wonderful dark, sombre film in which you become engrossed in workings of the various characters involved, but nothing prepares you for the ending. <\/FONT><\/DIV>
a genuinely breathtaking showstopper,  the type of ending that studios would never allow to happen in modern movie making. <\/FONT><\/DIV>
what drives the epic nature of the closing scene home even more, is the song tell me. <\/EM><\/FONT><\/DIV>
a grandiose 70s rock track that builds and builds with layers of piano, guitars, and orchestrations. <\/FONT><\/DIV>
a masterpiece of melancholy and drama that i have fallen for, in a big way in recent weeks.<\/FONT><\/DIV>
upon seeing the film i decided to see if i could track a copy of the soundtrack down, only to realise that its rather rare. <\/FONT><\/DIV>
with the help of some modern computer freakiness, means that with a little tweaking here and there i have managed to extract the song for all to hear.<\/FONT><\/DIV>
so, please, close the curtains, switch off your mobile phone, pour yourself a nice glass of red wine and just let this brilliant song take over your life for the next few minutes.<\/FONT><\/DIV>
