back online and now faced with a monstrous pile of silver discs, <\/FONT>so here’s a quick run down of some of the stuff.<\/FONT><\/DIV>

midlake – <\/STRONG>roscoe<\/EM><\/FONT><\/DIV>
gorgeous opening album track of supreme 70s middle of the road rock that permeates your soul as well as generating media press meltdown. so several months later, the album highlight gets lifted off the album, handed over to various names to remix and generally given a bloody great makeover. names include : jody den broeder<\/EM>, justin robertson<\/EM>, cassettes wont listen<\/EM>, and erol alken and ambient guru richard norris in their excellent alterego beyond the wizards sleeve. <\/EM>so what ever your fancy there is a remix for you ! <\/FONT><\/DIV>
happy house, leftfield ambience, or how about the drop dead brilliance of the original. <\/FONT><\/DIV>
you just cant go wrong with this.<\/FONT><\/DIV>

stateless – <\/STRONG>exit<\/EM><\/FONT><\/DIV>
a couple of years ago, stateless <\/STRONG>released a rather fine ep on regal records<\/EM>. the songs showed a well defined craft at experimental guitar music that never wandered off too far up its own pretensions. of course there were the obvious audio connections with radiohead<\/STRONG> and dj shadow<\/STRONG>, so when the lead singer of the band dropped in on dj shadows sessions for his last album all became too clear. thankfully someone has come along and given the band another shot at the pop cherry, however, rather than get us all excited with new material, its one of the songs off that original ep given a re-release. <\/FONT><\/DIV>
still, maybe this means an album is on its way ? we can but hope.<\/FONT><\/DIV>

digitalism<\/STRONG> – pogo<\/EM><\/FONT><\/DIV>
a lot of love is being thrown in the general direction of this new name on the nu-rave block. having remixed all the cool crowd for the haircut dancefloors we at last come to the hamburg based duo debut single. as to be expected there are the necessary synths giving it their 80s electro vibe, but with a delicate new era groove. the end results are not going to shock the monkey, but will make fans of new order <\/STRONG>and cut copy <\/STRONG>very happy, and i’m pretty certain that there will be evening radio shows that are going to totally love this addictive little song.<\/FONT><\/DIV>

unklejam<\/STRONG> – what am i fighting for ?<\/EM><\/FONT><\/DIV>
recently every fashion\/lifestyle magazine have been all over this new well dressed gang. <\/FONT><\/DIV>
i have to admit i have yet to be convinced. <\/FONT><\/DIV>
this debut single will sound great on radio and will probably perk up a lot of people on the way to the office should breakfast djs drop this into their schedules, however, i hear little other than a desire to make funky pop music that nods its head in the direction of gnarls barley<\/STRONG> (minus the genius production of danger mouse<\/EM> unfortunately) as the vocals are very cee-lo like, but encased in pretty standard studio-centric electro-funk pop. <\/FONT><\/DIV>
ok, sod it, here’s a lazy copout : scissor sisters<\/STRONG> vs outkast<\/STRONG><\/FONT><\/DIV>
