threes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>    <!--ppd1000033--> <DIV><FONT face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">not a&nbsp;fan of  the big emotional rock thing normally, but this new album, the bands third, aint  half bad.<\/FONT><\/DIV> <DIV><FONT face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">the spread of styles  are nicely varied, with some tracks being punchy, and others being more  restrained and moody. <\/FONT><\/DIV> <DIV><FONT face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">i think there are  those that would brand this as part of the <EM>emo <\/EM>scene, the lyrics  certainly seems to imply a certain level of angst and inner turmoil being  experienced. <\/FONT><\/DIV> <DIV><FONT face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">thankfully the  personaly negativity that perpetuates is actually rather suited to the noises  that they surround these outpourings with. there are elements of post punk  desires in the style of guitar production (no they are not angular, but more  awkward than your usual protooled gloss), and the layered vocals are at times  startling, with the best example <EM>red.right.return <\/EM>being of particular  note where the desire to push the boundaries are there for all to hear, but  still within the constraints of a big powerful audience pleasing song  structure.<\/FONT><\/DIV> <DIV><FONT face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">the press release  states that these recordings were hammered home in some abandoned warehouse in  el paso, mexico, which could be why the music sounds so epic and vast in scope,  therefore making the results perfect for the big arena scene.&nbsp;there are  touches of <\/FONT><FONT face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"><STRONG>coldplay<\/STRONG> and <STRONG>u2, <\/STRONG>and even <STRONG>pink  floyd<\/STRONG>&nbsp;thrown out across the albums 13 tracks (hello <EM>without a  sound)<\/EM>, not in a soft focus slow motion manner, but more hard edged urgent  manner.<\/FONT><\/DIV> <DIV><FONT face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">mtv and fm radio  stations are going to love this, and you know when in the mood, it&#8217;s hard not  argue as to why the band shouldn&#8217;t get the mass audience they obviously  crave.<\/FONT><\/DIV> <DIV><FONT face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\">it should also be  noted that initial pressings of the album come with an extra dvd that consists  of a short film, <EM>eme nakia,<\/EM>&nbsp;giving fans an insight into the plight  of a young <EM>tony hajjar <\/EM>(the bands drummer), and the difficult family  based experiences following them getting out of the lebanon during the civil  war. it&#8217;s pretty typical tv soap drama stuff, but as its based upon fact, the  reasons are all the more apparent. the story is obviously from the heart, and  makes for a refreshing change from the usual studio out takes and videos that  these extras normally comprise.<\/FONT><\/DIV> <DIV><FONT face=\"Arial\" size=\"2\"><EM>more detail<\/EM>  : <A href=\"http:\/\/www.spartamusic.com\">here<\/A><\/FONT><\/DIV> <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>not a&nbsp;fan of the big emotional rock thing normally, but this new album, the bands third, aint half bad. the spread of styles are nicely varied, with some tracks being punchy, and others being more restrained and moody. i think there are those that would brand this as part of the emo scene, the lyrics [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[3],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-517","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-album-reviews"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/ireallylovemusic.co.uk\/blog\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/517","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/ireallylovemusic.co.uk\/blog\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/ireallylovemusic.co.uk\/blog\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/ireallylovemusic.co.uk\/blog\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/ireallylovemusic.co.uk\/blog\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=517"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"http:\/\/ireallylovemusic.co.uk\/blog\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/517\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/ireallylovemusic.co.uk\/blog\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=517"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/ireallylovemusic.co.uk\/blog\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=517"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/ireallylovemusic.co.uk\/blog\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=517"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
