normally each day brings a few surprises in the form of shabby cd-r releases, unwanted major label compilations and thanfully the odd gem. so when a 10 inch single in a pure gold cover with a question mark cut out revealing the dayglo pink vinyl within i have to admit i was already smitten.<\/FONT><\/DIV>
as said article was the debut release, neon?,<\/EM> by fashionista loved electro synth freaksters temposhark <\/STRONG>then things got better as the needle hit the groove with the dirty analogue noises and rather seedy atmosphere. <\/FONT><\/DIV>
amazingly, following this dramatic entry to the world of pop the band followed this up with a couple of excellent singles, invisible ink, <\/EM>and the gorgeous its better to have loved <\/EM>which was given a well deserved widescreen makeover by guru pop producer guy sigsworth, <\/EM>which also featured a brilliant metronomy<\/STRONG> remix of not that big (<\/EM>feat. imogen heap<\/STRONG>), and the lastest single to be released being the beautiful packaging of the dancefloor stomper, joy.<\/EM><\/FONT><\/DIV>
since then things to outsiders have been somewhat quiet other than rob giving us an insight into his world via the bands myspace hangout.<\/FONT><\/DIV>
however, i received word yesterday, that the album proper is now finished and in its final stages (artwork etc). so to celebrate the continuing story of this fine electro pop act i dug into the archives, and retreived an early demo album that i was lucky to find in the bins of a record shop that was closing down (in fact i picked up all 3 copies!). i will admit that the sampler <\/EM>isn’t a perfect release as the band were obviously in need of some studio spit and polish, but it does give an indication of the excellence that was to follow.<\/FONT><\/DIV>
alongside the normal demo tracks was this little extra bootleg styled nugget, tom plays with his dinner,<\/EM> that splices in suzanne vegas<\/STRONG> well known toms diner <\/EM>loops with the jittery electro, so i thought i’d give it an new lease of life out on the wire.<\/FONT><\/DIV>
