good morning.

let’s kick the recent funk for all things mellow and quiet into touch and get some noisy fun back into gear.

the blood arms single is out today.

it’s a damn catchy number with a lyric that will go down a storm at any decent education establishment related disco.

video : suspicious character (nb : wmv format)

oh, and just so you know, the album is out in a few weeks on october 09

more detail : here

if you want some nice pleasant pop music, the sort that st. etienne used to be very good at, then h bird are wanting you to check out their new sounds, pink lights and champagne.

in fact they want you to pop over to their spot so much, that they are giving music away for free.

yes – free.

so clickety click over to the label, dog box records, site for some proper pop that will make you feel all loved up and gooey on a grey rainy day.

there will be a proper band website sorted out at some point, as well as a rather lovely dancefloored up remix by those folks over at bigsexyland, which could be rather special.

more detail : here

meanwhile, over in the world of hip hop there is all sorts going on besides dj shadows fan shedding discovery of hyphy.

yungun/mr thing – grown man business

the man with many names, yungun teams up with dj-producer extraordinaire mr thing (he produced a few of the tracks on yunguns debut album a couple of years ago) to make a solid consistent album that proves that the recent forget me not 12″ was not a fluke. excellent choice of loops and samples, deft scratching, fine non-thugged up lyrical action, as well as some rather smooth loved up soul styled production, making this a fine album to get on down to.

more detail : here

stay tuned.
