of the other randoms, i decided it was time to rewind and check out some sade<\/strong> given that at the time of the bands world domination i had little time for their mellow night grooves, whereas now i’m a little longer in the tooth, and can appreciate the gorgeous music and sultry vocals for what they are.
the\u00c2\u00a0milk<\/strong>i had never heard of, so did some research, found out that it’s upbeat r-n-b\/northern soul with production by one of the\u00c2\u00a0nextmen<\/strong> (brad baloo) adding a dash of modern hip hop twists, so headed back to pick the cd up, and yeah, its exactly what you’d expect : a lot of fun, and hits the same groove as mark ronson<\/strong> did with his big 60s revue sounds, albeit with a more of a live in the studio band sound.
the reason i picked up the lightweight emo punk pop groove of all\u00c2\u00a0time low<\/strong> was simply for the extra remix by cobra\u00c2\u00a0starship<\/strong> (that and it was only 50p), and as expected, i was not wrong as i have come to really enjoy the crunked up pop excess of cobra\u00c2\u00a0starship\u00c2\u00a0<\/strong>and their cohorts, 3oh!3.<\/strong>
which leads me to kesha\u00c2\u00a0<\/strong>of course. her rainbow<\/u> album was greeted with a massive sigh of relief when it came out due to the harrowing chaos of her world since the release of her previous album, warrior, and so i was a little worried it would be an overly heavy\/intense listen, but no, it’s a brilliant album with obvious lyrical anger, and a lot of her trademarked party crunk pop. i absolutely love this album. highly recommended.
so, yeah, a weird random mix of finds, and is exactly why i love the charity shop experience so much.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
