2011 sees the 10th anniversary of the release of a stroke of genius, <\/font>the classic bootleg\/mashup that helped launch a whole genre of b*stard pop.<\/p>\n following the explosion, its creator, the freelance hellraiser,<\/strong> went onto the forge all manner of excellent naughty treats which were lapped up across the world.<\/p>\n then as is the way, the freelance hellraiser<\/strong> went legit.<\/p>\n he started doing official remixes for bands such as snow patrol<\/strong>, and even the verve<\/strong>, and went onto release a non-mashup dance-pop album, waiting for clearance<\/font>, that really hit the spot for yours truly (i still think its a bit of a lost classic that took a pasting because it wasn’t what people were expecting).<\/p>\n after the album sank without trace, the freelance hellraiser<\/strong> went into hiding, and became an in demand production\/writer\/studio boffin kind of bloke, with ladyhawke<\/strong>, vv brown<\/strong>, little boots<\/strong> amongst those that called upon his skills.<\/p>\n then when the urge rose for him to craft dance floor shakers, the freelance hellraiser<\/strong> teamed up with anu ‘freeform five<\/strong>‘ pillai to release tracks under the kid gloves<\/strong> pseudo for a-trak<\/strong>s label, fools gold<\/u>, but it became clear that the world of mashups was calling him back.<\/p>\n so, much so that when he got his hands on some rem<\/strong> parts for an online remix, he couldn’t resist in resurrecting the bootlegger-in-hiatus.<\/p>\n
