i realise this may come as a shock to some, but i can’t deny it, in the last few weeks the debut release by imelda may<\/strong>, love tattoo<\/font>, has been a solid fixture on the ireallylovemusic<\/u> stereo.<\/p>\n

now, i can’t vouch for the latest release, mayhem<\/font>, but i can’t imagine she has strayed too far from the vibe of pumped rock-n-roll riffs, backing horns, and that big brassy voice all wrapped up with a splattering of ‘tude and rabble rousing rockabilly guitars.<\/p>\n

while it would be easy to knock as pastiche, i happen to think the results sound fresh and a lot of fun, especially when dropped into the boy\/man band excess of radio 2.<\/p>\n

so, i’m somewhat tempted to catch her on the forthcoming tour, and see if the girl can cut it live.<\/p>\n
