well i never. today i got lucky.<\/p>\n

browsing through the glut of crap in the current zavvi<\/u> clearout, i spotted a cd with very minimalist artwork. <\/p>\n

having no idea as to what it was, and therefore becoming intrigued i looked closer.<\/p>\n

a lot closer.<\/p>\n

there was a sticker covering up all the detail, but then i spotted this in the corner of the back cover : palette recordings<\/u>.<\/p>\n

then i realised that in the mess of lines that make the art, were the words, ‘john tejada where’<\/font><\/p>\n

needless to say, that since fabric 44<\/a> has been one mix that’s had a chink of love from yours truly, i decided to take the plunge and see if the excellence continues.<\/p>\n

two listens in and i can categorically state, it does.<\/p>\n

straight forward stripped back techno. with some acid sqiggles here, some thin beats there, and a lot of melody.<\/p>\n

not to mention the unexpected appearance of massive attack’s<\/strong> friend and collaborator, nicolette<\/strong> on desire, <\/font>thereby adding an extra layer of human warmth to the clinical proceedings.<\/font><\/p>\n

admittedly this is not an album that will change anyone’s life, but as a soundtrack to a stressful paymaster period of computer aided chaos, things don’t really come much more enjoyable than this. <\/p>\n

so, should you spot this low profile release amongst the mountains of kooks<\/strong> styled crap, then you now know what you’ve been lucky enough to chance upon.<\/p>\n
