‘produced by soulwax’

you know it’s not that often a one track skinny promo has the declaration as to who has produced said chart hopeful, but in the case of das pop, i guess it’s all part of the build up given that soulwax are pushing hard for people to fall for the band, to such a degree that they have produced the forthcoming das pop long player.

and you know, from the evidence provided, (all 3 minutes of it), soulwax could be onto something.

basically, this is radio friendly indie pop with a big happy smiley face, as opposed to having its eye on skinny jeans, garage rock, or casio synths.

the song chugs away nicely with sing-a-long hooks, then the strings come in, and damn do they take the song into the higher regions of joy.

of course, with the connections that the band have (justice are loving their groove as well), there are bound to be some rather interesting remixes doing the rounds.

i have been lucky to have heard the 9 minute kid gloves remix, so if that’s released as part of this package, then i’d recommend it if you are wanting more of that electro cut up funk, especially if you like the extended 12" remixes of old new order singles.

video : here
